The story of Mirzapur 2 will unfold through the lens of popular characters from the first season played by Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal as Guddu, Divyendu as Munna Bhaiya, Shweta Tripathi Sharma as Golu. Recap of Mirzapur Season 1

Mirzapur revolves around drugs, guns, murders and lawlessness. Kaleen Bhaiya aka Akhandanand Tripathi is a local crime lord in Mirzapur who runs the illegal trade of guns and opium. The series begins and ends with a traumatic wedding experience for almost everyone who was invited as a part of the celebrations. It’s the death of Sweety, Guddu’s wife and Bablu, Guddu’s brother by Munna, son of Kaleen Bhaiya.

Kaleen Bhaiya thinks his own son Munna in not capable of handling the business by himself and therefore after appointing brothers Guddu (Ali Fazal) and Bablu Pandit (Vikrant Massey) to oversee his illegal gun business, Munna’s ego turned things upside down. Though initially, things look pretty good for the brothers because they fair pretty well in the jobs that is assigned to them. But the jealous and conniving son of Kaleen Bhaiya, Munna, doesn’t approve of their rise and plot against the brothers. Munna’s anger took a massive hit and he decided to get rid of both the brothers. On the other hand, Munna started falling in love with Sweety who was in a relationship with Guddu. When Munna got to know about it, things worsened. His one-sided love added fuel to the fire.

Sweety’s sister Golu is in college and decides to run a party against Munna, which also triggers Munna.

Meanwhile, Rati Shankar Shukla: Bahubali of Jaunpur, was also killed by Guddu.

In the end, Munna plans to kill Bablu and Guddu at the Gorakhpur wedding where he hijacked the event. In a brutal faceoff, Munna kills Guddu’s pregnant wife Sweety and Bablu. Munna’s father Kaleen Bhaiya kills off policemen to maintain his fear among the people.

At the Tripathi house, Kaleen Bhaiya’s father gets to know of Beena and Raja’s affair and blackmails Beena to get intimate with him and later punishes Raja for his deeds through Beena.

What Will Happen in Mirzapur Season 2?

Like the previous season, Kaleen Bhaiya (Akhandanand Tripathi) will be seen ruling the Mirzapur in this season too. Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit aka Guddu Bhaiya will be back to take revenge of his wife Sweety (Shriya Pilgaonkar) and brother Bablu (Vikrant Massey). In the trailer, Guddu can be seen planning vengeance against Kaleen and Munna aka Phoolchand Tripathi as they took everything from him.

This season will witness more of Shweta Tripathi as Gajgamini Gupta aka Golu in a whole new avatar. She has been transformed from being a bubbly girl to holding guns after her sister’s death. She will take revenge of her sister and brother-in-law with the help of Guddu. It will be interesting to see whether they will be able to take revenge from Kaleen and Munna or not.

Speaking about the second season of Mirzapur, Divyenndu Sharmaa who plays Munna Bhaiya, told Indian Express, “Munna has got this self-belief that no one can do anything to him. He has this constant belief in himself that ‘You are the man’. He thinks ‘I can do anything and everything.’ It was lovely to play Munna in such different settings and circumstances. I really enjoyed that change of scenario.”
