Good News for Kids Jungle Book Back on Doordarshan During Lockdown.
To One Tech Media, the Global Content Distribution Hub has agreed to offer the popular Jungle Book series for free runs on Doordarshan to keep Indian children at home during the lockdown.
The run is in solidarity with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) and is Doordarshan’s initiative to bring back the popular series for viewing in the current generation lockdown days.
Anil Khera, Founder, and CEO of One Tech Media Company said, “We are very happy to be a part of this national movement and are contributing to the National Library of Recreation in such critical times. Mowgli and Jungle Book have always been a favorite among viewers. We are sure that this will make the older audience indifferent and at the same time, connect with the younger audience who will explore Mowgli’s innocence. We currently support the visionary decisions of MIB and Doordarshan in reviving popular content. ”
Jungle Book Back on Doordarshan
The decision comes after Doordarshan announced the return of historical epics like Mahabharata and Ramayana to audiences across the country in the last two weeks. In a circular, MIB has directed all direct-to-home platforms and cable operators to show all DD channels as well as Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha channels as per the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act.
Commenting on this, Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Shekhar Vempati said, “We are delighted to bring back another popular series with our iconic TV series. We are happy that One Tech Media expressed a desire to join us nationally to keep children safe at home with their families during the lockdown. ”
Data from the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) for the week ending March 13 show that consumption of television content increased by 40 million minutes week-on-week, likely to increase further in the coming days. As people stay home and television broadcasters run out of fresh content, reviving the classic show seems to be a common story.

यह निर्णय दूरदर्शन द्वारा महाभारत और रामायण जैसे ऐतिहासिक महाकाव्यों को देश भर के दर्शकों के लिए पिछले दो सप्ताह में वापस लाने की घोषणा के बाद आया है। एक परिपत्र में, MIB ने सभी प्रत्यक्ष-टू-होम प्लेटफार्मों और केबल ऑपरेटरों को सभी डीडी चैनलों के साथ-साथ लोकसभा और राज्यसभा चैनलों को केबल टेलीविजन नेटवर्क (विनियमन) अधिनियम के अनुसार दिखाने का निर्देश दिया है।
